Vivienne de Villiers
Vivienne’s career in the design industry includes exposure to all the facets of both interior design and architectural practice. Her expertise lies in detail documentation but she also boasts extensive 3d and specialized rendering experience. As an Architectural Technologist, she has 20 years of working experience in the Interior design field and 12 years working for Architects. She joined Bam Architects in 2014.
Claire Buchler
With her base at Bam Architects, Claire founded Plans Assist fourteen years ago and has been assisting Cape Town’s leading developers and architects with all their local authority plan approval requirements. Over the years she has established invaluable relationships with key officials in all
the municipal districts. She’s also
mastered the City of Cape Town digital submissions process, while
maintaining personal contact with key officials in council.
Mohammed Bassa
Mo has 25years experience as a Project Director on large scale Hospitality, Commercial and
Residential projects in South Africa and Nigeria. Previously a director at Gapp Architects, his association with Bam Architects on various projects like Glacier Place, The Edge and others began in 2011, where he has been involved in co-ordination, construction documentation, detailing and contract administration.
Michael Parkin
Michael studied architecture at the University of Cape Town and public administration at the University of Stellenbosch. He has worked as an architect in both the private and public sectors in Cape Town, on a wide variety of building types since 1976. His association with Bam Architects began in 2011 where he specialises in construction documentation, detailing and contract administration.
Marina Coxon
Marinda is an experienced Principal Agent with excellent working knowledge of building contracts, in particular the JBCC and she has a proven track record in multi-disciplined team leadership, administration, negotiating and conflict management skills. She is responsible for executing projects starting with technical documentation to final delivery of large commercial projects ranging from industrial, residential, hospitality & retail to healthcare.
Vuyiseka Raraza
Vuvu joined BAM Architects in 2014 and is responsible for office hygiene. She has more than 8 years’ experience in the industry and is also responsible for the upkeep of the office and makes sure that everything is on point.
Kyle Kincaid
Kyle joined Bam Architects in 2014 and is tasked with documentation management for all projects. He has a certificate in Architectural Draughting.
Laetitia Kopp
Laetitia manages the office at Bam Architects. She has a Diploma in Interior Decorating, a certificate in Architectural Draughting, a certificate in Retail Buying and is currently studying towards Accounting Science diploma. She wanted to pursue a career in Buying but Bam Architects had other plans for her..
Prieur van der Merwe
Prieur graduated as an architect from the University of Port Elizabeth South Africa and gained invaluable international experience in London and New York before returning to Cape town. He has worked on several large scale projects throughout the world from hotels; offices; apartment blocks and joined the Bam team 2014.
Leon Kroukamp
Leon joined BAM Architects in 2011 and has been producing technical documentation and working closely with clients and fellow professionals across our entire portfolio. His experience ranges from health clubs and retail to commercial and industrial. He has been expertly providing project data/analysis to assist with feasibilities through his understanding of the SAPOA method of measurement. Leon started his career in architecture in 1989. .
Yolandi Mouton
Yolandi graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Pretoria in 2001 and has been a member of SACAP since 2005. Prior to joining BAM in 2012, she worked for several highly respected commercial architectural firms in both the UK and SA. With 17 years of experience she has extensive involvement in various stages of the design and construction phases throughout the entire spectrum of the architectural profession and is intimately involved in the implementation of projects at a wide range of scales and complexities, including healthcare, residential developments, commercial office buildings, hotels, and retail facilities.
Chris Bam
Founded Bam Architects in 1992 after graduating as an Architect and gaining international experience in London. He has since grown the business from a one-man operation into a mid-size architectural practice operating throughout South Africa with an enviable reputation for innovative design and execution across a wide variety of commercial building types. Clients, including some of SA’s leading property REITS, appreciate his hands-on approach to the company’s projects and his finger-on-the-pulse management style. In addition to his architectural expertise he has also completed a range of executive education programs at most of the leading South African Business Schools and more recently two programs on leading professional services firms at the Mumbai and Boston campuses of the Harvard Business School.
Shirlinia Wilson
Shirlinia with her exuberant and professional personality is responsible for the Bam Architects public interface. She has a Certificate in Executive PA & Office Administration.
Shaun Wrench
Shaun has worked in the architectural industry since 1991. Joining BAM in 2012 as a Senior Architectural Technologist with more than 27 years’ experience in the industry, he has been responsible for the detailing, documentation and coordination on a wide range of projects including hospitality, retail, residential and commercial buildings.
Devin du Plessis
Devin graduated in the top 10 of his class at UCT with an M Arch degree and has since had work published in Italy. He designs with a focus on new concepts and cutting-edge expression while maximizing on contextual appropriateness and also handles representation. Devin joined BAM Architects in 2016.
Nozuko Raraza
Joined BAM in 2011 and is a key member of the company’s support staff. She creates and maintains the hygienic and enabling environment required Bam Architects to function optimally.
Sebastian van Greunen
Sebastian is a senior design architect and focusses on design and feasibility studies for large scale projects. After graduating from UCT he worked directly with top developers in Cape Town and Australia gaining 18 years’ experience in the commercial development space.
He joined Bam in 2012.
Sean Rhoda
He has worked in the architectural industry since graduation as an architectural technologist in 1994 and joined BAM in 2014. He was responsible for design & execution of a large part of the 34 Health Clubs rolled out by Bam Architects for Virgin Active across South Africa between 2014 & 2018 and is currently focussed on servicing commercial & residential developers. Sean has a wealth of experience in detail design and on-site execution.
Casper Meiring
In addition to studying architecture at the Nelson Mandela Bay University, he also holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Development, Management and Planning at Stellenbosch University. Prior to joining BAM in 2013, he worked for several highly respected architectural firms in Dublin and Cape Town. He has extensive involvement in the design and implementation of projects at a wide range of scales and complexities, including residential developments, commercial office buildings, hotels, public buildings, sporting facilities and stadiums as well as master planning and urban design. He is familiar with all aspects of sustainable development in terms of the design and implementation of individual buildings to larger scale developments.
